Japanese Literature Challenge 5

As one more book, which I'm currently reading, will wrap up the Irish reading challenge (though not my interest in Irish writing), it seemed like the perfect time to sign up for theDolce Belleza fifth Japanese reading challenge.

It's a pretty simple challenge, folks. Read one book of Japanese literature between now and January 30, 2012. You can read and review more if you want, but really all you have to do to do is sign up here, maybe post a review at some point, but really, just read a book of Japanese fiction sometime in the next six months.

That's too hard?

Really?

  1. Sounds wonderful, and, by chance, yesterday I read the piece on Japanese children in the new Granta....

  2. Great to see you'll be doing this too. I'll have to look for that Granta issue.

  5. I'm grateful, too! It's always nice to meet other bloggers with whom one has a certain 'simpatico'.

(As I reread my comment, I want to apologize for those typos...Goodness gracious, I'm usually more literate than that! ;)

  6. No apologies for typos necessary here! That raises the bar too high for me. Thanks for the comments. Have you found in the past that people communicate more through one thread about their books, or by reading each others' Mr. Linky links?

  8. Thanks, Parrish Lantern. I actually have quite a few in mind, and having just completed the Ireland Reading Challenge (though not my reading of Irish authors), I'm just about ready to put this front and center. All of those are good suggestions, and I have to say I've read none of them, though I have read a fair amount of Japanese literature over the years. We shall see!
